Job description

Permanent Highway Maintenance Worker 1 (HMW1) or Highway Technician 1 (HT1) - Knox County, PN 20057388

The selected candidate will be placed in the classification in which they meet minimum qualifications. 

What You Will Do:

  • You will serve the public and work to make the roads in Ohio safer
  • You will attend training to obtain CDL licensure; if not already a licensed CDL holder.
  •  You will perform highway maintenance activities; including flagging, pothole patching, repairing guardrails, litter pickup, mowing.
  •  You will perform snow & ice operations.

Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition & subtraction & in reading, writing & speaking common English vocabulary.  Must obtain Class B Commercial Drivers License with tanker endorsement without airbrake restriction

Highway Technician 1: 
Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition & subtraction & decimals, percentages & fractions; ability to read, write & speak common English vocabulary; 3 mos. trg. or 3 mos. exp. in operation of basic equipment.  Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License with tanker endorsement without airbrake restriction.
