Job description

Are you a dependable and compassionate professional committed to making a difference? Join our team at Friends of the Homeless, where we strive to provide a safe and supportive environment for men experiencing homelessness. We are seeking a Security Guard to help ensure the safety, dignity, and well-being of our guests and staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor premises to prevent and respond to safety issues.
  • Conduct regular security checks throughout the shelter.
  • De-escalate conflicts with professionalism and empathy.
  • Maintain clear and respectful communication with guests.
  • Work closely with shelter staff to uphold shelter policies and procedures.
  • Document incidents and maintain accurate logs.

Availability:

  • Part-time (Weekend Shift): Saturdays and Sundays, 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM
  • Full-time (Second Shift): Monday to Friday, 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM

Requirements:

  • Prior experience in security or a similar role preferred.
  • Ability to stay calm and think clearly in high-pressure situations.
  • Strong interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Training in CPR/First Aid and de-escalation techniques a plus.
