Job description

NOW HIRING CDL HOLDERS FOR WINTER SNOW & ICE SEASON!!
The Ohio Department of Transportation , District Six, is now accepting applications for Seasonal Highway Technicians for the following counties:
Delaware, Franklin, Madison, Marion, Morrow, Pickaway, and Union
District 6 will be holding OPEN INTERVIEWS on the following dates:
  • Thursday 9/17/26 from 4pm-7pm at 600 Haughn Road, Grove City, OH 43123
  • Wednesday 9/23/26 from 4pm-7pm at 3500 East 5th Ave. Columbus, OH 43219
What You Will Do:
  • Snow and Ice Duties on the roadway 8-12 hours, fleet readiness inspections (pre/post) and washing of the Snow and Ice Equipment, greasing equipment used for snow and ice, blade changing
  • General facilities maintenance
  • Pothole patching and roadway remediation crew duties
  • Assist with sign installation along 2, 4 and multi-lane routes
  • Articulated loader operation to load single and tandem axle dump trucks for snow and ice operations
  • Assist with the maintenance of traffic for roadway emergencies
  • Highway beautification and litter removal when needed

Qualifications
Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition & subtraction & decimals, percentages & fractions; ability to read, write & speak common English vocabulary; 3 mos. trg. or 3 mos. exp. in operation of basic equipment.
Note: Applicant must have valid Commercial Driver's License at the appropriate level pursuant to approved position description on file to operate motorized equipment of size & type regulated by section 4506 of Ohio Revised Code.
