Job description

Join a Collaborative Team โ€“ Personal Injury Paralegal Opportunity in Columbus, Ohio!

Aspen Careers is partnering with a well-established plaintiff-side personal injury law firm in Columbus to identify an experienced Paralegal who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. This is an excellent opportunity to work closely with a respected partner, manage cases from intake through resolution, and receive extensive training alongside a long-tenured paralegal before retirement.

Job Title: Personal Injury Paralegal

Location: Columbus, Ohio | Hybrid (1 day remote per week after onboarding)

Why You Should Apply

  • Join a stable, family-oriented law firm with strong employee tenure and a positive team culture.
  • Work directly with a partner and manage personal injury matters from beginning to end.
  • Receive up to six months of training and transition support from a retiring paralegal with 20 years of institutional knowledge.
  • Enjoy a flexible schedule with start times of 8:00 a.m. or 8:30 a.m. and the ability to work from home one day per week.
  • Support a firm embracing technology and AI tools to improve efficiency and client service.
  • Play a key role in helping manage a busy caseload and maintaining exceptional client outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Manage personal injury files from intake through settlement, litigation, and resolution.
  • Obtain, organize, and track medical records, bills, and supporting documentation.
  • Prepare demand packages and assist with litigation-related activities.
  • Maintain accurate case files and ensure critical deadlines are met.
  • Coordinate with attorneys, clients, medical providers, and other stakeholders regarding case progress.
  • Assist with managing the caseload of a senior partner and proactively identify potential issues within files.

The Ideal Candidate

  • 2+ years of personal injury paralegal experience preferred.
  • Litigation experience required; plaintiff-side personal injury or insurance defense backgrounds will be considered.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong file management skills.
  • Tech-savvy and comfortable utilizing legal technology and AI tools.
  • Professional, dependable, and highly organized.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to accept feedback constructively and work collaboratively.
  • Seeking a long-term career opportunity rather than a short-term position.

About the Firm

  • Established Columbus-based plaintiff personal injury practice.
  • Collaborative environment where attorneys and staff work closely together.
  • No departmental silosโ€”paralegals gain exposure to all phases of case management.
  • Strong emphasis on culture, teamwork, and employee retention.
  • Convenient office location in the Encova Building with attached parking and amenities.

What's in It for You?

  • Compensation based on experience.
  • Free parking in an attached garage.
  • One work-from-home day per week.
  • Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, life, short-term disability, and long-term disability coverage.
  • 401(k) with employer match and Safe Harbor contribution.
  • Holiday bonus program and additional employee incentives.
  • Flexible work schedule and supportive leadership team.
