Job Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • Education: Associates or Bachelors degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography preferred
  • Licensure / Certification: Registered within one year of hire. For current associates hired prior to 2/24/2013, registered by 2/24/2014.
  • In addition, CV Sonographers hired into dual modality roles, actively performing both Echo and Vascular imaging, must obtain registry in their secondary specialty by the end of the second year of employment.  1. Registered by the ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers) as  a. RVT (Registered Vascular Technologist) or  b. RDCS (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer OR  2. Registered by CCI (Cardiovascular Credentialing International) as  a. RCS (Registered Cardiac Sonographer) or  b. RVS (Registered Vascular Specialist)
  • Experience: Minimum one (1) year experience in cardiovascular imaging preferred, two years highly desirable.  Effective Communication Skills  BLS certification required. Capable of lifting, turning patients in order to transport and position them for test. Additionally, be physically capable of moving the equipment needed to perform the study. Able to perform professional duties with minimal supervision. Possesses a high level of professionalism and the ability to establish good rapport with patients, staff and physicians.
