Job Description
Title: RN - BMT
Schedule: Shifts: Days/Nights or Nights (12-hour rotating assignments possible; shift assignments reviewed every 4 weeks)
Requirements:
- Minimum: 1 year of recent Medical-Surgical and oncology experience (must meet specialty requirements within the past 3 years)
- Experience: 2 years preferred
- Heme-oncology experience strongly preferred
- Travel assignment experience required
- References: 2 professional references required (at least 1 must be a manager/director or formal supervisor)
- Required certification: BLS
- Preferred certifications: ACLS, ONS chemotherapy certification (chemotherapy certification NOT required)
- Charting system: EPIC required
- Licensure: RN must have valid state or compact license in hand at the time of submission
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a hematology-oncology unit, focusing on transplant and cellular therapy
- Monitor and manage patient care in a mixed-acuity setting, including telemetry and medical-surgical patients
- Administer medications and treatment plans as prescribed, including blood products and IV therapies
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including pharmacy, social work, and rapid response teams to ensure comprehensive patient care
- Educate patients and families about treatment plans, potential side effects, and care procedures
Compliance / Notes:
- Orientation: 72 hours
- Background/fingerprinting: Candidates must complete fingerprints immediately after signing contract
- Vaccines: COVID-19 vaccine NOT required; Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
- Former employees eligible after 6 months away; current facility employees ineligible for traveler positions at this facility
