Assistant Golf CoachDepartment AthleticsBuilding/Location Maxwell Center Main CampusSupervisor Athletic Director/Head Golf CoachMonths Per Year 12Hours Per Week 20Benefits Part-Time SalaryPosition SummaryThe Assistant Golf Coach is responsible for supporting all aspects of the program, includingcoaching, recruiting, player development, scouting, and program administration. This role playsan important part in fostering the athletic, academic, and spiritual growth of student-athleteswhile promoting a culture of excellence and integrity within the program. The Assistant Coach isexpected to provide strong leadership, mentorship, and support to the Head Coach, contributingto the overall success and sustainability of the team.

Additionally, the Assistant Coach may assistwith departmental initiatives as assigned and is expected to actively support the universitysChristian mission.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESDuties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:Assist the Head Coach in all aspects of daily practices, training sessions, and game preparationAnalyze game and practice film to evaluate performance and provide feedback to studentathletesand coaching staffMentor and support student-athletes in their athletic, academic, and spiritual developmentAssist with overseeing and coordinating strength and conditioning programs in collaborationwith athletic staffSupport recruiting efforts through prospect evaluation, communication, campus visits, andrelationship buildingAssist in preparing scouting reports, opponent analysis, and game strategyPromote a positive team culture that emphasizes discipline, accountability, sportsmanship, andpersonal growthMonitor student-athlete academic progress and encourage academic successAssist with travel coordination, equipment management, and other program operations asassignedHelp lead and support fundraising initiatives and service projectsAttend and actively participate in institutional chapel servicesLead and promote the universitys mission, values, and faith-based community initiatives withinthe programAdditional ResponsibilitiesPerform other duties as assigned by the Athletic DirectorREQUIRED MINIMUM QualificationsAccording to Ohio Christian University employment policy, all employees must possess a strongChristian commitment and adhere to the standards outlined in the OCU Community LifestyleStatement.Required: Bachelors degree from an accredited institution Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as neededPreferred: Masters degree Experience in coaching Golf or playing at the collegiate level Knowledge of NCCAA rules and recruiting processes Passion for mentoring and developing student-athletes athletically and spirituallyLIMITATIONS AND DISCLAIMERAs a religious educational institution operating under the auspices of The Churches of Christ in Christian Union, OhioChristian University is permitted and reserves the right to prefer employees on the basis of religion (42 U.S.C.,Sections 2000e-1 and 2000e-2).The above job description is meant to describe the general nature and level of workbeing performed; it is not intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties and skillsrequired for the position.
