Ohio Department of Public Safety - Ohio Homeland Security - Critical Infrastructure Unit
Report In Location - 1970 West Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio 43223
Work Day and Hours - Work Days and Hours will vary between Monday - Friday 8:00AM to 5:00PM depending on student's schedule
This is an ongoing internship located in Columbus, OH. The selected candidate will ideally be able to work throughout the school year and summer, for an average of 20 hours per week or less (with flexibility during the school semesters given class schedule and course load).
The pay rate for a college intern is based upon the students' academic status:
• Undergraduate student rate of pay - $16.93 per hour
• Graduate student rate of pay - $20.59 per hour

What You'll Do as a College Intern:
• Assisting in collecting, cleaning, and organizing critical infrastructure data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with Ohio Critical Infrastructure Data System (OCIDS) standards.
• Update and maintain Geographic Information Systems (GIS) datasets and related documentation, utilizing the ArcGIS Online platform.
• Support data quality assurance efforts by reviewing records for errors, duplicates, or inconsistencies, and coordinating corrections with project team members.
• Remote meetings and field visits with county representatives to present/demonstrate the capabilities of OCIDS.
• Additional homeland security related tasks as assigned.

To be eligible for an internship opportunity at the Ohio Department of Public Safety, an applicant must:
• Be currently enrolled in an accredited college/university.
• Be in good standing with the college/university.
• Have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0.
• Be enrolled in at least one course.
• Be pursuing a degree or finishing a degree.
