Job description

Job Title: Landscaper/General Farm Hand (Landscaping, Farm Animal Care)

Location: Marysville, Ohio

Job Type: Part-time (20 hours per week minimum)

Pay Rate:per hour (commensurate with experience]

Schedule: Flexible schedule required due to weather and farm project schedule

The farm is located in Marysville, Ohio. We pride ourselves on high-quality animal care, keeping our grounds beautiful. We are looking for a reliable, hard-working Landscaper/General Farm Hand to join our team and help us maintain the day-to-day operations of our farm.

Key Responsibilities

Animal Care & Livestock Maintenance

  • Feed, water, and monitor the well-being of farm animals ([e.g., horses, donkey,  goats, chickens, pigs, and dogs.
  • Clean and sanitize stalls, pens, coops, and pastures; replace bedding regularly.
  • Assist with routine animal care, grooming, turnouts, and basic medical care under supervision.
  • Inspect fences, gates, and enclosures daily to ensure animal safety and security.

Groundskeeping & Landscaping

  • Operate landscaping equipment including lawnmowers, string trimmers, brush cutters, and leaf blowers.
  • Maintain farm grounds through regular mowing, weeding, pruning, mulch application, and brush clearing.
  • Plant, water, and care for trees, shrubs, flowerbeds, or vegetable plots as needed.
  • Keep walkways, driveways, and common areas clean, clear, and well-maintained.

General Farm Operations

  • Safely operate and maintain basic farm equipment and tools (e.g., tractors, utility vehicles, hand tools).
  • Perform routine repair and maintenance on farm buildings, fences, equipment, and irrigation lines.
  • Assist with lifting, hauling, and storing supplies such as hay bales, feed bags, and soil.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment across the property.

Adaptable Schedule: Flexibility to work evening, and weekend hours required by the farm’s project schedule.

Qualifications & Requirements

Experience: Previous experience in landscaping/groundskeeping required, previous experience with farm animal care preferred (willing to train the right candidate).

Physical Stamina: Ability to lift up to 50+ lbs regularly, bend, kneel, and perform strenuous manual labor for extended periods.

Weather Adaptability: Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow).

Equipment Knowledge: Familiarity with basic power tools and landscaping equipment; tractor experience is a plus.

Customer Service Mindset: Personable, approachable, and comfortable interacting with venue guests, event clients, and visitors.

Event Logistics Experience: Prior experience in event setup, hospitality, venue maintenance, or crowd management is a plus.

Problem-Solving Ability: Capable of thinking on your feet to handle unexpected event-day logistics or guest needs calmly and efficiently.

Reliability: Strong work ethic, punctual, self-motivated, and able to work independently or with a team.

Adaptable Schedule: Flexibility to work evening, weekend, or holiday shifts as required by the farm’s project and event schedule

License: Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.

References: Previous employment and character references required.
