Report In Location - 1970 W. Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio 43223
Work Hours - 8:00AM to 5:00PM (May include weekends and/or various shift times)

What You'll Do as a Planner Supervisor
Within the Ohio Department of Public Safety (ODPS), Ohio Homeland Security (OHS) Division, under direction of the Program Administrator 3, supervise assigned personnel & administer all activities of the Civil Protection Team:
• Plans, manages, & directs activities for the Civil Protection Team & provides technical assistance to department personnel & other federal, state, or local government; Responds to problems or concerns regarding planning activities;
• Oversees the deployment of Skywatch Observation Towers & Unmanned Aircraft systems (UAS) to special events; Assigns staffing &/or training as needed to serve incoming requests from local officials; Develops & maintains documentation pertaining to the deployments;
• Provides SkyWatch Tower security consultation to state & local partners related to current or future events; May participate in deployments to the field as needed, for events & critical incidents in order to support security operations;
• Facilitates any maintenance &/or repair needs to ensure Skywatch Towers remain operational;
• Reviews & analyzes legislation for potential impact on assigned activities;

Qualifications
OPTION 1
Completion of undergraduate core program plus 12 mos. exp. or 36 mos. exp. in assigned program area (e.g., engineering, landscape, architecture, natural resources, business or public administration, physical, behavioral & social science, transportation, rehabilitation, urban or community planning);
AND 9 mos. trg. or 9 mos. exp. in operational, mathematical, analytical or statistical research methods used in conducting & documenting research studies;
AND 3 courses or 9 mos. exp. in budgeting;
AND 9 mos. trg. or 9 mos. exp. in public relations;
AND 9 mos. trg. or 9 mos. exp. in technical writing or business communication;
AND 3 mos. trg. or 3 mos. exp. in employee training & development;
AND 12 mos. exp in planning projects or program services for targeted population or geographic area.
OPTION 2
-Or completion of graduate core program or 36 mos. exp. in assigned program area (e.g., engineering, landscape architecture, natural resources, business or public administration, physical, behavioral & social science, transportation, rehabilitation, urban or community planning);
AND 9 mos. trg. or 9 mos. exp. in operational, mathematical, analytical or statistical research methods used in conducting & documenting research studies;
AND 3 courses or 9 mos. exp. in budgeting;

-Or 6 mos. exp. as Planner 3, 85313, in assigned program area.
-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.
POSITION SPECIFIC MINIMUM QUALIFICAITONS: Must attend training and obtain Commercial Driver's License (CDL) by completion of probationary period. Must maintain valid CDL throughout employment.
Assigned Program Area:
Completion of undergraduate core program or 24 months experience in Infrastructure Protection, Emergency Management, Homeland Security, Cyber Security, Information Technology, Critical Infrastructure or related field.
