Histology technologist
Part-time, evening shift
Position Purpose:
Histology Technician provides the technical component for anatomical pathology (surgical pathology, cytopathology, autopsy, etc.)
Minimum Requirements:
• Education: High school graduate or General Equivalency Degree (GED) required or Bachelors Degree.
• Licensure / Certification: Histology Technician, HT (ASCP) certificate or HT (ASCP) eligible preferred. American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) Histology Technician (HT)certified or eligible, and HLT certified or eligible.
• Experience: Previous histology experience or one year formal training will be considered.
• Effective Communication Skills
• Manual dexterity absolutely necessary, as well as ability to lift supplies.
• Must possess basic computer knowledge
• Flexibility to work additional shifts as needed
• Ability to utilize different histology instrumentation including maintenance and troubleshooting
• Ability to respond to change
• Ability to work independently
• Prefer some Immunohistochemistry experience
