Must demonstrate reliable and predictable attendance. Must possess a valid Ohio driver's license and remain insurable under the City's vehicle insurance policy.

The City of Grove City is a Drug Free Workplace. All candidates who receive an offer of employment will be required to undergo testing for commonly used drugs, including marijuana. Available positions: Part-time - maximum of 28 hours per week, year-round Seasonal - 40 hours per week for up to 5 consecutive months Essential Functions of the Position The Parks Maintenance Service Laborer will have the following duties under their direct supervisor: Supports high-quality Department operations by assisting with maintenance, mowing, landscaping, field preparation, and the general upkeep of parks and facilities; operating and maintaining equipment and tools safely; and helping ensure facilities and athletic fields are prepared for programs, events, and community use.

Creates a safe, inclusive, and positive environment while upholding all OSHA safety standards. Provides excellent customer service and responds to basic public questions and concerns. Monitors facility use and work areas and responds appropriately.

Communicates early and clearly with supervisors and coworkers. Maintains clean, organized spaces, supplies, equipment, and work sites. Reports incidents, injuries, concerns, or unsafe conditions immediately.

Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance. Maintains accurate attendance, documentation, and required reports. Upholds professionalism, reliability, and ethical behavior in all interactions.

Uses required technology systems (timekeeping, scheduling, communication tools) accurately and consistently. Follows all City, department, facility, and safety procedures. Supports a unified department culture by collaborating across programs and sections.

Performs other related duties as assigned. Obeys and promptly executes all orders of the Administrative Assistant. Working Conditions and Equipment Operated The employee has exposure to chemical compounds found in an office environment (e.g., toner, correction fluid, etc.); works in the vicinity of floor or wall openings, elevated platforms, and/or runways; ascends and/or descends ladders, stairs, or scaffolds; works on and around powered platforms and/or vehicle mounted platforms; is exposed to environmental conditions which may result in injury from fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, and/or poorly ventilated work areas; exposed to possible injury from hazardous gases, chemicals, flammables, air contaminants, unclean or unsanitary conditions; works with moving mechanical parts of equipment or machines (e.g., belts, reels, blades, pulleys, etc.); exposed to possible injury from explosions and/or falling from high places; has exposure to fire; has exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy weather conditions; has exposure to shaking objects or surfaces; regularly required to lift, carry, push, or pull 50 lbs

or less. Employee may be subject to irregular work hours and must have flexible availability; and exposed to vehicular traffic when working in the public right-of-way. Note: In accordance with the U.S

Department of Labor physical demands strength ratings, this is considered medium to heavy work.
