Job description

Paramedic – Full-Time Days

Facility: Lynx Columbus
Position: Paramedic
Employment Type: Full-Time

Location: Columbus, USA

Position Overview

Lynx Columbus is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Paramedic to join our emergency medical services team on a full-time day-shift basis.

The successful candidate will provide high-quality emergency medical care to patients in a variety of pre-hospital and transport settings. This role requires a calm, clinically competent professional who can respond effectively to emergencies, work collaboratively with healthcare teams, and maintain excellent patient-care and documentation standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond promptly to emergency and non-emergency medical calls.
  • Assess, triage, and treat patients according to established clinical protocols.
  • Provide advanced life support and emergency medical interventions.
  • Administer medications and perform appropriate advanced procedures within scope of practice.
  • Monitor and document patients' vital signs and clinical condition.
  • Safely transport patients to appropriate medical facilities when required.
  • Communicate effectively with emergency departments, physicians, nurses, dispatchers, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Operate and maintain emergency medical equipment and vehicles.
  • Complete accurate patient care reports and other required documentation.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with applicable HIPAA requirements.
  • Follow company policies, medical protocols, OSHA requirements, and applicable state and local regulations.
  • Participate in continuing education, skills training, and quality-improvement activities.
  • Maintain a professional, compassionate, and respectful approach with patients and their families.
Required Qualifications
  • Current Paramedic certification/license appropriate for the state of employment.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification.
  • Current ACLS certification.
  • Current PALS certification or equivalent pediatric emergency certification, where required.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to safely operate or work from an emergency medical vehicle.
  • Strong assessment, communication, critical-thinking, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure emergency situations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous EMS, ambulance, emergency department, or critical-care experience.
  • Experience working in a high-volume emergency medical environment.
  • Additional EMS or specialty certifications.
  • Familiarity with electronic patient care reporting systems.
  • Strong knowledge of local EMS protocols and healthcare facilities.

Physical Requirements

The Paramedic must be able to perform the physical requirements associated with emergency medical services, including:

  • Lifting and moving patients and medical equipment.
  • Performing CPR and other emergency procedures.
  • Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and working for extended periods.
  • Working in confined spaces and unpredictable environments.
  • Responding to emergency situations safely and efficiently.
Schedule

Full-Time – Day Shift
