The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry within the College of Arts and Sciences seeks a Post Doctoral Scholar to perform independent research in the group of Prof. Rafael Bruschweiler. This Post Doctoral Scholar position requires a highly motivated and productive individual with experience in biophysical chemistry, structural biology, computational modeling, and high-field NMR spectroscopy. The research will focus on the structural and dynamics of characterization of peptides, peptide analogs, and related molecules, and their interactions with specific protein targets. The Post Doctoral Scholar is also involved in collaborations with other group members or external collaborators, and other tasks assigned by the PI. The Post Doctoral Scholar will prepare research results for publication in reports, peer-reviewed journals, books, and other media, and prepare and deliver seminars, talks or lectures for dissemination of knowledge, particularly the results of the research undertaken. The Post Doctoral Scholar will play an active role in the group's weekly seminar and journal club. The Post Doctoral Scholar will also develop workflows, protocols, software, or web servers in a form suitable for their use by other group members and their distribution to the broader scientific community.

Requirement

Doctoral Degree in Biophysics, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field with specialization in structural biology and ligand design. Strong experience in protein modeling using AlphaFold, Rosetta, etc. and/or experimental biomolecular NMR is required.

The hiring salary range is $62,232 - $65,000. The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, unit's available budget, and the candidate's qualifications.
