A Brief Overview
The Senior Cloud Engineer has advanced knowledge of the application and the technology stack, including strong experience in AWS, Python, and C# to build, enhance, and support cloud-native applications. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on development, working in modern cloud environments, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, reliable solutions.
The ideal candidate is comfortable contributing to system design discussions, writing high-quality code, and continuously improving application performance, security, and operational efficiency.
What You Will Do
  • Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using Python and C#/.NET.
  • Build and support cloud-native applications on AWS, leveraging managed services where possible.
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support automated builds, testing, and deployments.
  • Collaborate with product managers and QA teams to deliver features end-to-end.
  • Write clean, well-documented, and testable code aligned with engineering best practices.
  • Analyze and resolve production issues, focusing on reliability, performance, and cost optimization.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to team standards and best practices.
  • Support technical design discussions and contribute to ongoing system improvements.

What You Will Need
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent Required
  • 8+ years of software development experience in enterprise or product-based environments.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Python and C#/.NET.
  • Practical experience developing and running applications on AWS.
  • Familiarity with AWS services such as Lambda, ECS/EKS, API Gateway, S3, RDS or DynamoDB, IAM, CloudWatch, and SQS/SNS.
  • Solid understanding of REST APIs, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
  • Experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Proficiency with Git, CI/CD tools, and automated testing practices.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with good communication and collaboration abilities
  • AWS Certified Developer - Associate.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation, CDK, or Terraform).
  • Knowledge of Docker and container orchestration fundamentals.
  • Exposure to security best practices, logging, monitoring, and performance tuning in AWS
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Expected Work Location (In Office): It is expected that you will primarily perform work at the Safelite Home Office (7400 Safelite Way, Columbus, OH 43235).
