Job description

Job Purpose:
- The Personal Care Assistant at LIFECARE ALLIANCE is responsible for performing personal care and homemaker services based on a nurse’s assessment of the client’s needs. This position also involves providing respite and private duty care, ensuring the well-being and comfort of clients in various settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist clients with personal hygiene according to the client care plan, including bathing, grooming, and toileting.
- Provide assistance with oral hygiene, denture care, skin care, foot and nail care to maintain the client's health and comfort.
- Accurately take and record vital signs, ensuring precise documentation for the healthcare team.
- Offer social interaction and emotional support to clients and/or caregivers, fostering a positive and supportive environment.
- Utilize mature judgment in all interactions and decisions, maintaining the highest level of professionalism.
- Maintain confidentiality of client information, ensuring privacy and trust.
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure coordinated care.
- Use proper body mechanics to lift, transfer, and move clients safely, promoting both client and personal safety.


Required Education:
- Current STNA certification
Required Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of in-home care experience, either in private duty or in a facility setting
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to lift, transfer, and move clients using proper body mechanics
- Ability to use mature judgment
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and communicate effectively
- Proficiency in assisting clients with personal hygiene, including oral hygiene, denture care, skin care, foot and nail care
- Competence in taking and recording vital signs accurately
- Capability to provide social interaction and emotional support to clients and/or caregivers
