What We Look For In a Statistics Tutor

  • Curriculum Awareness & Adaptive Instruction: Familiar with statistics curricula and common challenges including distinguishing correlation from causation, selecting appropriate tests, and interpreting p-values correctly. Adapts instruction using real-world data sets, graphing calculators or statistical software, and contextual examples to support students from high school AP to undergraduate research methods courses.
  • Effective Teaching Methods: Ability to identify concepts students commonly struggle with, explain material using multiple approaches, and adapt instruction to meet individual learning needs and styles.
  • Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.
  • Ability to adapt to different learning styles and student needs.
