Job description

Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Commercial & Industrial HVAC Installer to perform the installation of HVAC systems for commercial and industrial projects. This role is responsible for leading installation crews, ensuring high-quality workmanship, maintaining project schedules, and upholding safety and code compliance standards. The ideal candidate has extensive field experience, strong leadership abilities, and expertise in complex mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise HVAC installation commercial and industrial job projects.
  • Install, modify, and replace large-scale HVAC systems including RTUs, chillers, boilers, VRF/VRV systems, split systems, VAV systems, air handlers, ductwork, and hydronic piping. Pipefitting experience preferred.
  • Interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate system installation
  • Coordinate daily jobsite activities with project managers, general contractors, subcontractors, and inspectors
  • Ensure installations comply with local, state, and federal mechanical codes and OSHA safety standards
  • Perform layout, equipment setting, rigging coordination, and startup preparation
  • Train and mentor apprentices and junior installers
  • Troubleshoot installation issues and provide field solutions
  • Maintain accurate job documentation, material usage, and progress reports
  • Ensure tools, equipment, and company vehicles are properly maintained

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of commercial/industrial HVAC installation experience
  • Service pipefitting experience preferred
  • Proven experience on large-scale commercial or industrial projects
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, sheet metal, piping, and controls
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and submittals
  • Proficient in brazing, soldering, refrigerant piping, duct installation, and equipment setting
  • OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred
  • EPA Universal Certification required
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds
  • Comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and climb for extended periods

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with building automation system (BAS) integration
  • Experience in healthcare, manufacturing, data centers, or large commercial facilities
  • Journeyman or Master HVAC license
