The Mechanical Engineer will support the design, development, and sustaining engineering of pressure and load transducer products at DwyerOmega. This role is ideal for an engineer with 1-5 years of experience who has a strong foundation in mechanical design and enjoys hands-on problem solving, product development, and cross-functional collaboration.

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• 1-5 years of experience in mechanical design, product development, manufacturing engineering, or sustaining engineering.
• Experience using 3D CAD software and creating 2D engineering drawings.
• Basic understanding of GD&T, tolerance analysis, material selection, and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to design and evaluate mechanical components and assemblies used in industrial, instrumentation, sensor, or electromechanical products.
• Experience supporting engineering projects through design, prototyping, testing, and production release activities.
• Familiarity with common manufacturing processes such as machining, welding, forming, molding, assembly, or related production methods.
• Understanding of fundamental mechanical engineering principles including stress, strain, fatigue, sealing, and structural design.
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality, supply chain, product management, and operations.
• Experience creating and maintaining engineering documentation such as drawings, bills of material, engineering change requests, test plans, and technical reports.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot product and manufacturing issues.
• Willingness to participate in product testing, prototype evaluation, and root cause investigations.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with pressure sensors, pressure transducers, load cells, force measurement devices, or other industrial instrumentation products.
• Familiarity with strain gage technology, sensing diaphragms, Wheatstone bridge concepts, or related sensor technologies.
• Exposure to engineering tools and methodologies such as FMEA, Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), or basic statistical analysis.
• Experience using SolidWorks or similar CAD/PDM systems.
• Familiarity with finite element analysis (FEA) concepts and interpretation of simulation results.
• Hands-on experience with prototype assembly, laboratory testing, failure analysis, or engineering test fixtures.
• Awareness of industry compliance requirements such as CE, UKCA, RoHS, or REACH.
