Job Summary: COBOL/Mainframe Developer (Columbus, OH - Onsite, Contract to Hire)

Join a leading financial technology team as a COBOL/Mainframe Developer in Columbus, OH. Drive impactful projects that support critical financial data processing and regulatory reporting initiatives. [Responsibilities]
- Develop, maintain, and optimize COBOL programs and JCL scripts for large-scale data processing and reporting.
- Execute, manage, and troubleshoot batch job execution with JCL.
- Analyze complex business requirements and transform them into robust technical solutions.
- Collaborate with business partners, analysts, QA, and fellow developers to ensure data accuracy and regulatory compliance.
- Lead testing cycles, perform performance tuning, and contribute to code reviews.
- Document code changes and maintain clear technical documentation.
- Support production deployments and resolve incidents efficiently.
- Adhere to established development standards and best practices.
[Required Skills and Experience]
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in COBOL development and mainframe systems.
- Proven proficiency in COBOL, JCL, Easytrieve, VSAM, and DB2.
- Experienced with File-AID, TSO/ISPF, Abend-AID, and Changeman for version control and deployment.
- Skilled in mainframe scheduling tools for job automation and batch processing.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Adept at managing multiple concurrent projects independently.
[Preferred Skills]
- Experience with Oracle Financial Services Analytical Applications (OFSAA).
- Familiarity with ZEKE/ZENA scheduling tools.
