Job description

Job summary: OTR driver responsible for safely transporting freight across regional routes. Ensure timely delivery, compliance with federal and company regulations, and maintain proper documentation and vehicle condition.

Key responsibilities:

  • Operate a tractor-trailer on long-distance routes, driving up to legal limits while following hours-of-service rules.
  • Freight is no-touch.
  • inspect loads for proper weight distribution and securement.
  • Complete pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections; report and document vehicle defects or maintenance needs.
  • Maintain accurate logs, bills of lading, delivery receipts, and other required paperwork or electronic records.
  • Communicate with dispatch, shippers, receivers, and customers regarding delivery status, delays, or issues.
  • Adhere to DOT, FMCSA, state, and company safety, hours-of-service, and hazardous materials (if applicable) regulations.
  • Manage route planning, fuel stops, and compliance with weigh stations and permits.
  • Provide professional customer service at pickup and delivery locations.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Class A commercial driver’s license (CDL).
  • Minimum [1] years OTR driving experience.
  • Clean driving record and ability to pass DOT physical, drug/alcohol screening, and background checks.
