Job Brief
Kable Workforce Solutions is hiring a Rail Loader for our client. In this role, you will drive vehicles onto rail cars, secure them using chocks or chains, inspect for damage, report issues, and assist with training new team members. Maintaining positive communication and adapting to additional assigned tasks is expected.
Whatโ€™s a Typical Day Like?
  • Drive vehicles onto rail cars
  • Secure vehicles on the rail cars using chocks or chains
  • Able to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned
  • Inspect vehicles for damage
  • Report damage to lead, supervisor, or manager
  • Train new employees and temporary workers
  • Maintain a positive behavior and conduct in the workplace while acting and communicating with other customers, vendors, co-workers, and management

What Are the Requirements of the Job?
  • 18 years old
  • Previous experience in a distribution center environment helpful
  • Knowledge of hand tools (i.e., wrenches, screwdrivers, ratchets, etc.)
  • Ability to read and interpret SDS manuals
  • Ability to work in a variety of situations and adhere to strict quality standards without variance
  • Solid ability to read, write, and communicate in English
  • Possess and maintain a valid State Driverโ€™s license
  • Possess good sense of balance and maintain 3 points of contact
  • Ability to drive both automatic and manual transmission vehicles
  • Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in extreme weather conditions
  • Work in tight spaces when loading vehicles and at heights approximately 15 feet above the ground
  • Good and regular attendance; maintain flexibility regarding job assignments
  • Ability to stand continuously for long periods of time, up to 10 hours per day
  • Ability to lift to 75 lbs. on a continuous basis for 100% of working hours
  • Ability to frequently lift cartons above (up to 8 feet overhead) or below shoulder level
  • Ability to push, pull, bend, twist, squat, climb, kneel, and stoop on a repetitive basis
  • Ability to utilize hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity, including grasping and holding
  • Maintain flexibility regarding job assignments, including other departments, brands, locations, and mandatory overtime
  • Pass the background check, MVR test, and drug test
  • Wear steel-toes only in the plant
