Job Title: Heavy Civil Project Manager (Sitework / Excavation)

Location: Columbus, OH 43219 | Work Location: On-Site

What You'll Be Responsible For:

  • As the Project Manager, you will oversee all aspects of project execution, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Project Leadership & Execution:

  • Manage all day-to-day project operations and jobsite activities

  • Coordinate project schedules, resources, and construction timelines

  • Monitor project budgets, costs, and overall financial performance

  • Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to specifications

Procurement & Contract Administration:

  • Procure materials, equipment, and subcontractor services

  • Administer purchase orders and subcontract agreements

  • Manage change orders and contract modifications

  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely deliveries

  • Project Documentation & Coordination

Partner with Project Engineers to manage:

  • Submittals

  • RFIs

  • Change Orders

  • Closeout Documentation

  • Maintain drawing revisions and specification updates

  • Manage and verify As-Built documentation

  • Ensure accurate project records throughout the project lifecycle

  • Scheduling & Site Coordination

  • Develop and maintain project schedules

  • Coordinate deliveries and logistics with field operations

  • Verify topographic information and site conditions

  • Support field teams with planning and execution strategies

  • Client & Stakeholder Management

  • Attend and lead project meetings

  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships

  • Coordinate with owners, engineers, inspectors, and subcontractors

  • Provide regular project updates and progress reporting

  • Financial Management

  • Work closely with Accounting to prepare monthly pay applications

  • Monitor project profitability and cost controls

  • Track billing, forecasting, and financial reporting

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Obtain permits and approvals

  • Coordinate OUPS notifications

  • Schedule and manage third-party inspections

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and project safety requirements

Qualifications (Requirements):

  • 4+ years of Heavy Civil Construction Project Management experience

  • Experience managing:

  • Sitework

  • Earthwork

  • Excavation

  • Underground Utility Projects

Strong understanding of construction drawings and specifications:

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

  • Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in:

  • Construction Management

  • Civil Engineering

  • Related Construction Discipline

Experience with:
