Job Description Service Writer Location: Columbus, OH Schedule: Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Compensation: $50,000-$65,000 annually Position Type: Direct Hire Position Overview We are seeking a customer-focused Service Writer to join our team. This role serves as the primary point of contact for customers and is responsible for creating service work orders, preparing repair estimates, dispatching technicians, and coordinating service activities from start to finish. The ideal candidate will have experience quoting repair work in a machinery, heavy equipment, construction, agricultural, trucking, or repair facility environment and possess a strong understanding of equipment and service operations.

Key Responsibilities Create, process, and manage service work orders. Serve as the primary contact for customers regarding service requests and repair status updates. Prepare quotes and estimates for equipment repairs and maintenance services.

Schedule and dispatch field and shop technicians to maximize efficiency and customer responsiveness. Coordinate communication between customers, technicians, and internal departments. Process warranty claims and maintain accurate service documentation.

Assist with invoicing, billing inquiries, and other service department administrative functions. Ensure timely and accurate completion of service records and work order documentation. Qualifications Experience writing and quoting work orders within a machinery, heavy equipment, agricultural equipment, construction equipment, trucking, or repair facility environment.

Strong knowledge of equipment operation, maintenance, and repair processes. Excellent customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced service environment.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computerized service management systems. Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail. Valid driver's license required.

Education & Experience High school diploma or GED required. Previous experience as a Service Writer, Service Coordinator, Service Advisor, or similar customer-facing service role preferred. #LP.
