Job description

Stanley Electric U.S. is seeking an experienced Automation Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of automation experience in a high-volume production environment.

Our London, Ohio facility houses lighting and mold design, construction, production engineering, and dedicated associates in our Quality, Assembly, Sales, and Customer Service departments. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

Automation System Design

  • Design and develop automation systems for manufacturing processes.
  • Evaluate opportunities for automation to reduce labor and improve efficiency.
  • Specify automation equipment, robotics, vision systems, sensors, and controls.
  • Develop equipment and fixture specifications as well as statements of work for suppliers.

Robotics & Motion Control

  • Program and troubleshoot industrial robots (Fanuc, ABB, Yaskawa, etc.).
  • Optimize robotic cycle times.
  • Integrate end-of-arm tooling and automated material handling.
  • Develop and troubleshoot PLC programs.
  • Configure HMI interfaces.
  • Integrate servo systems and motion controls.

Vision Systems

  • Implement machine vision systems for:
  • Part presence
  • Orientation
  • Measurement
  • Barcode/Data Matrix verification

Process Improvement

  • Eliminate waste using Lean Manufacturing principles.

Troubleshooting

  • Support production and Maintenance during equipment failures.
  • Root cause analysis of automation issues.
  • Implement permanent corrective actions.
  • Support cost reduction projects.
  • Improve machine uptime.

Safety

  • Ensure equipment complies with:
  • OSHA

  • ANSI
  • Company safety standards
  • Implement safety PLCs and guarding.
