Job Description The Superintendent will be responsible for:

  • Primary liaison with owners/architects/engineers for the day-to-day construction activities of the project.
  • Develop and implement overall project work schedules identifying the critical path including the expediting of scheduled critical materials and equipment for their timely delivery to site.
  • Review, respond, and resolve subcontractor schedule impacts and or claims of productivity impacts.
  • Manage and make decisions related to the performance of work related to scheduling, delivery, logistics, quality control and trade employee staffing levels.
  • Document project field issues that impact budget, quality or schedule and prepare RFIs to clarify questions on the building plans and details when necessary.
  • Oversee work among all trades to promote a coordinated project operation. Resolve local area problems, regarding procedures, precedence, design clarifications, adequate labor and equipment, schedule and all other appropriate matters.
  • Ensure all necessary permits and insurance are in place and kept current for the term of the project.
  • Assist in the General Conditions for the project to maintain the budget.
  • Manage the work to ensure that it is installed in compliance with and conforms to the approved contract documents.

  • At least 5+ years of building construction experience required
  • Previous Light Industrial, warehouse, manufacturing, distribution, or tilt-wall project experience preferred
  • Proven ability to manage all phases of construction from groundbreaking through turnover
  • Strong understanding of construction documents, drawings, specifications, contracts, and subcontracts
  • Thorough knowledge of construction means, methods, materials, and sequencing
  • Experience coordinating multiple subcontractors and self-perform crews on active job sites
  • Ability to develop and maintain detailed short-term schedules and look-ahead plans
  • Experience leading daily huddles, subcontractor meetings, and owner walkthroughs
  • Knowledge of site logistics, material management, and workforce planning
  • Understanding of line and grade, surveying, and layout procedures
  • Familiarity with quality control processes and punch list management
  • Ability to identify and resolve field issues before they impact schedule or budget
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and OSHA compliance
  • OSHA 30-Hour Certification required
  • Experience conducting site safety meetings, inspections, and audits
  • Proficiency with Procore required
  • Experience with scheduling software such as Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or similar platforms is a plus
  • Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams)
  • Understanding of construction cost control and basic accounting procedures
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, civil, and MEP drawings
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and hold subcontractors accountable
  • Demonstrated success mentoring and developing field personnel
  • Ability to build positive relationships with owners, architects, engineers, and trade partners
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and make sound decisions in the field
  • Proven problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities
  • Commitment to delivering projects safely, on time, and at the highest quality standards
