Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Legal Assistant to support our immigration practice. The ideal candidate will play a key role in managing client communications, preparing legal documents, and ensuring the smooth operation of case workflows. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about immigration law and eager to grow in a fast-paced legal environment.
Key Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys in preparing and filing immigration petitions, applications, and supporting documentation
  • Maintain and organize client files, both physical and electronic, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality
  • Communicate with clients to gather necessary information and provide case updates
  • Monitor case deadlines and manage case calendars
  • Conduct basic legal research and compile case-related information
  • Coordinate with government agencies, including USCIS, EOIR, and DOS
  • Translate documents or interpret client communications (if fluent in a second language)
  • Perform general administrative tasks such as scheduling, data entry, and correspondence
Qualifications

  • Fluent in English and Spanish (required)
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Political Science or related field
  • Prior experience in immigration law or legal support (preferred but not required)
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal case management software
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Foreign language proficiency: Spanish (French, Haitian Creole or Arabic is a plus)
