Purpose of Position
The Senior Training Instructional Designer leads the design, development, and implementation of advanced learning solutions that support the operational performance, safety, and regulatory compliance of the NetJets Flight Operations Department.
This role requires deep expertise in adult learning theory, performance based training, and aviation focused instructional design. The Senior Training Instructional Designer serves as a strategic partner to Flight Operations stakeholders, independently translating complex operational concepts into effective, scalable courseware while ensuring alignment with organizational standards, regulatory guidance, and best practices.
In addition to content development, this role provides thought leadership, mentors junior instructional designers, and helps shape the overall quality, consistency, and effectiveness of Flight Operations training programs.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end instructional design efforts for complex, high-impact Flight Operations training initiatives, from analysis through release.
Partner with Flight Operations leadership, subject-matter experts, and stakeholders to translate operational requirements into performance-focused learning solutions.
Serve as a trusted advisor to stakeholders, guiding training strategy, scope, sequencing, and instructional approach.
Design and develop blended learning solutions using tools such as Articulate Rise, Storyline, and PowerPoint, with an emphasis on scenario-based and application-focused learning.
Apply established instructional design models while adapting methodologies to meet operational timelines, feedback, and evolving priorities.
Ensure training content aligns with FAA guidance and NetJets standards.
Independently manage multiple projects with minimal oversight, balancing competing priorities and deadlines.
Review, refine, and elevate courseware quality across the Flight Operations training portfolio.
Provide mentorship, coaching, and informal review support to Instructional Designers and contractors.
Collaborate with cross-functional partners to ensure training solutions integrate effectively with operational workflows.
Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by identifying gaps, risks, and opportunities within existing training programs.
Deliver instructor-led or virtual training sessions as needed.

Demonstrated ability to manage ambiguity in fast paced operational environments.
Experience mentoring or guiding other instructional designers.
Aerospace or aviation technical background a plus.
