Job description

Electrician – Journeyman

$37,500 – $78,000

Full Time

Job Summary:

Installing new and repairing existing electrical systems, hydraulic, pneumatic and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment. Support activities at commercial, industrial, institutional, and residential locations.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Installing power supply wiring and conduit
  • Troubleshooting electrical components
  • Installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems
  • Testing electrical systems or continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, using testing devices to ensure compatibility and safety of system
  • Ensuring code compliance of electrical instillations

Qualifications and Skills:

  • License Journeyman (preferred)
  • 3 years of experience in commercial/industrial electrical
  • Ability to follow electrical code manuals to install and repair electrical systems
  • Understand schematic diagrams, blueprints and other specifications required by our client
  • Experience working with hand tools, power tool and electronic test equipment
  • Strong working knowledge of job site safety as well as ability to complete a company specific safety orientation
  • Maintaining current electrician’s license or identification card to meet governmental regulations

Physical Requirements:
  • Lift and carry materials and tools, often 25-50 pounds regularly and 75-100 pounds occasionally
  • Push, pull, bend, squat, kneel, and crawl in tight spaces.
  • Climb ladders, scaffolding and stairs frequently.
  • Work overhead for extended periods while installing conduit, wiring, or fixtures
  • Stand and walk for much of an 8-10 hour day.
  • Work in various weather conditions if outdoors
  • Good near vision to identify wire colors, read blueprints, and inspect electrical components.
  • Ability to distinguish colors accurately, as color-coded wiring is essential in many electrical systems (some employers can provide reasonable accommodations depending on the job).
