About the Role

The Outside Sales Manager takes Source 21 into the field. You'll bring in new business, grow the accounts you already have, and build the relationships that turn into long-term programs. You're not boxed into one territory. We sell across the country.

It's a role with a lot of freedom and a lot of accountability. You own your accounts, you take initiative, and you follow through. Out in the field, you're the one customers judge us by.

We'd rather see initiative than wait for instructions, and we care more about follow-through than activity. Stay calm, be straight with people, take ownership, and treat reliability as the product.

What You'll Do

Business Development

• Find and go after new accounts in our target sectors: medical, aerospace and defense, power generation, industrial OEM, and advanced manufacturing.
• Pull RFQs in the field and work with inside sales to get quotes out.
• Feed market and competitor intel back to the team.

Account Growth

• Grow customer relationships with regular in-person visits.
• Get out to customer sites, trade shows, and industry events.
• Negotiate pricing within approved guidelines.
• Hit your targets and then beat them.

Coordination & Execution

• Handle order entry and account coordination when it's needed.
• Represent Source 21 and how we position ourselves nationally.
• Work with inside sales and supply chain so fulfillment runs clean.

Location: On-site daily in Columbus, Ohio, with regular travel to customers and events. Not a fit if you want remote or hybrid.

What We're Looking For

Required

• 3 to 7 years in outside or B2B sales.
• Experience in raw materials wholesale, distribution, or processing is a strong plus.
• Specialty metals sales experience is a strong plus.
• Good at building relationships and negotiating.
• Self-directed enough to own and grow a book on your own.
• Solid written and verbal communication.
• Up for regular travel.
• Valid driver's license.

Nice to Have

• You've sold stainless, nickel alloys, or copper and brass.
• Existing relationships in medical, aerospace and defense, power generation, or industrial.
• Comfortable with mill test reports, material specs (ASTM/AMS), and ISO quality systems.
• Comfortable in CRM/ERP systems. NetSuite is a plus.
