Job description

*MUST BE LICENSED IN OHIO OR SURROUNDING STATE*
Job Summary:
The Professional Surveyor will measure property boundaries, provide essential data, and support growth of DTK Site Solutions.
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Follows and understands Mission, Vision, Values
  • Assists in planning and scheduling survey projects, including setting project timelines and budgets, identifying survey goals, and determining the appropriate survey methodology.
  • Aids in design survey to gather data relevant to the organization's objectives, including selecting survey questions, designing questionnaires, and testing survey instruments.
  • Oversees the administration of surveys, including selecting and training survey staff, supervising data collection, and monitors progress to ensure that surveys are completed on time and within budget.
  • Analyzes survey data, including conducting statistical analyses and generating summarizing reports.
  • Communicates survey results to senior management, publishes reports, and creates visual representations of data.
  • Ensures the quality of survey data by conducting quality control checks, identifying data anomalies, and ensuring data accuracy.
  • Stays up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in survey research, including new survey techniques, emerging technologies, and changes in survey regulations.
  • Creates 3D models using specialized software tools such as Trimble Business Center, Carlson, Autodesk Civil 3d, Topcon Magnet office and Revit.
  • Ensures the quality of the 3d Model work by testing models for accuracy, functionality, and performance.
  • Assists in calculations and layout for construction staking.
  • Plot deeds and drafts legal descriptions for review
  • Manages equipment to ensure good working order and calibration.
  • Collaborates to continue effective training and devolvement of our technicians.

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Strong knowledge of technological advances, principles, techniques, and practices of land surveying
  • Advanced knowledge of local survey laws, surveying principles, techniques, and procedures
  • Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong ability to work with a team
  • Strong knowledge of survey and technical software including but not limited to AutoCAD, Carlson, BIM, GPS, and robotic total stations
  • Experience with 3D laser scanners and aerial photogrammetry experience a plus but not required
  • Willing to travel as needed, typically not involving overnight stays
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Geomatics, survey, or related field
  • State of Ohio Professional Surveyor certification
  • 1+ year of AutoCad experience
  • Driver’s license
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to sit for prolong periods of time
  • Must be able to work on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Must be able to work 5 days a week 8 hours a day
  • Must be able to travel to jobsites
