Job description

Position Summary: The Project Sales Technician provides technical support for complex lifting, rigging, and heavy transportation projects. Working closely with sales, engineering, and operations teams, this role conducts site evaluations, develops lift plans, validates project requirements, and helps design safe and effective project solutions.

This position combines field and office work and is ideal for individuals with crane, rigging, heavy lift, construction, or industrial experience who enjoy solving technical challenges and collaborating across teams. Travel includes local jobsite visits and occasional regional project support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct site visits and project assessments to evaluate scope, site conditions, equipment requirements, and execution considerations.
  • Develop lift plans and technical documentation to support project planning and execution.
  • Partner with sales, engineering, and operations teams to develop safe, practical, and innovative lifting and transportation solutions.
  • Identify potential project risks and support planning efforts to ensure successful execution.
  • Provide technical input for project estimates, equipment selection, scheduling, and resource planning.
  • Contribute technical documentation and project details for customer proposals and presentations.
  • Coordinate with operations and field teams to align project plans with available equipment, personnel, and resources.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, site assessments, and technical records.
  • Participate in customer meetings and site discussions as a technical subject matter resource.
  • Promote a strong commitment to safety throughout all project planning and execution activities.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of experience in crane and rigging, heavy lift, construction, industrial services, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of lifting and rigging principles, equipment capabilities, and jobsite safety considerations.
  • Experience developing lift plans and technical project documentation.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and relevant technical software applications.
  • Ability to perform jobsite evaluations, including outdoor work and climbing when necessary.
  • Ability to pass a fit-for-duty examination.
  • Willingness to travel locally and occasionally regionally as project needs require.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical, engineering, construction management, or trade school education.
  • Experience with lift planning software.
  • Experience supporting complex industrial, infrastructure, or heavy construction projects.
  • Familiarity with project estimating, engineering coordination, or transportation planning.
