Job Description: General Manager

Role Overview

The General Manager (GM) oversees all operational, financial, sales and manufacturing activities for our building material fabrication facility. This role is responsible for leading a team across production, safety, logistics, design engineering, sales and customer service. The GM will maximize plant throughput, maintain strict quality control, and ensure profitability while fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities Operational Leadership & Production Efficiency
  • Direct daily plant operations across all departments, including scheduling, material handling, fabrication, and shipping.
  • Implement production metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to track and optimize capacity utilization, labor efficiency, and material yield.
  • Oversee the manufacturing of specialized building components.
  • Lead continuous improvement and Lean Manufacturing initiatives to eliminate waste, reduce cycle times, and optimize plant layout.
Financial & Business Management & Sales
  • Manage the facility’s Profit & Loss (P&L) statements, operational budgets, capital expenditures (CapEx), and labor costs.
  • The GM will be responsible for building long‑term relationships with key accounts throughout the market.
  • Partner with the procurement team to optimize inventory levels, manage raw material supply chains and control input costs.
  • Analyze market trends and production capacities to support sales strategies and accurate client estimation models.
Safety, Compliance & Quality Assurance
  • Champion a Safety First culture, ensuring absolute compliance with OSHA regulations, local building codes, and environmental laws.
Team Development & Talent Management
  • Foster a collaborative, accountable, and high‑retention work environment.
Required Qualifications & Experience
  • Experience: Minimum of 5–7 years of operational management experience in building material manufacturing, structural component fabrication or a closely related industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Financial Acumen: Direct experience managing a facility budget, optimizing P&L, and conducting cost/benefit analyses.
  • Leadership Style: Strong communicative and relational skills with a floor‑first management approach—balancing strategic office planning with active, visible leadership on the production floor.
Compensation

Base Salary: $150,000 - $200,000

Bonus: $30,000 - $80,000 based on company performance, sales growth and annual profit.
