Job description

Surge Staffing is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Safety Analyst to support and enhance workplace safety, operational efficiency, and overall company performance. This role is responsible for monitoring safety programs, analyzing data and trends, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and partnering with leadership to promote a safe and productive work environment across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive, review, research, and analyze customer requests and safety-related information.
  • Request and maintain new customer approvals and manual classification codes through governing agencies.
  • Collect, organize, and maintain data from various sources and ensure database accuracy.
  • Analyze data trends using statistical techniques and prepare ongoing reports and recommendations.
  • Provide safety leadership and operational support within assigned regions.
  • Support field leadership teams in administering and maintaining company safety programs.
  • Investigate workplace incidents and prepare detailed reports with findings and corrective action recommendations.
  • Conduct job site audits and inspections to identify and correct safety hazards.
  • Partner with external agencies including OSHA, law enforcement, and regulatory entities as needed.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of safety training programs for associates and management.
  • Collaborate with leadership to ensure compliance with company safety policies and procedures.
  • Monitor reported incidents and ensure timely documentation, follow-up, and resolution.
  • Partner with the Risk Management team to develop and maintain facility safety programs focused on employee safety and OSHA compliance.
  • Support special projects as assigned by Workers' Compensation and Safety Management.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • 1-3 years of experience in an analytical, safety, compliance, or related role preferred.
  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills with the ability to identify trends and recommend solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency and accountability.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and internet-based systems.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a team environment.
  • Professional, cooperative, and calm under pressure.
  • Basic mathematical and problem-solving abilities required.
