Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide analytical support for portfolio managers, including but not limited to statistical analysis, prospect portfolio analysis, summarizing current market trends, creating market update presentations, and other recurring analyses.
  • Develop familiarity with fixed income market sectors, including money markets, municipals, investment-grade corporates, and government sectors, by analyzing sector fundamentals, market research, and macroeconomic factors.
  • Under the supervision of portfolio managers, make recommendations for reinvestment of security maturities considering curve and sector positioning, portfolio structuring, and stage orders on trading platforms for execution.
  • Attend fixed income investment strategy discussions and contribute to developing portfolio strategies spanning LGIPs, Money Market Funds, and the separately managed account landscape.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with Broker Dealer to ensure proper coverage and best execution in fixed income.
  • Contribute to Meeder Public Funds overall fixed income strategy.

Critical Success Factors:

  • Knowledge of financial markets/instruments/regulations, economic theories and relationships, valuation tools, etc. particularly as it relates to fixed income investing.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with other team members toward a common goal.
