Job description

Komar Industries is seeking a motivated and dependable Final Assembly & Test Technician to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for the final mechanical assembly, electrical completion, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation of industrial equipment prior to shipment.

The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, trainable, detail-oriented, and maintains a positive attitude while working in a fast-paced environment. This role plays a critical part in ensuring our equipment meets quality and performance standards before reaching our customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform final mechanical assembly of industrial equipment and machine systems.
  • Install conduit and route wiring according to electrical schematics and company standards.
  • Make electrical wiring terminations in control panels and field devices.
  • Verify wiring accuracy and completeness.
  • Conduct equipment inspections to ensure assembly quality and compliance with design specifications.
  • Use a laptop computer and company software to perform and document machine startup, commissioning, and system checkout procedures.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and control system issues identified during testing.
  • Verify machine operation, safety circuits, and system functionality prior to shipment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and assembly drawings is preferred not required.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn machine software applications.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and electrical test equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn and accept training.
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic.

Work Environment

This position works in a manufacturing and assembly environment. Employees should be comfortable working around industrial equipment and performing both mechanical and electrical tasks.

At times, production schedules require equipment to be completed within very short timeframes. Candidates must be able to adapt to changing priorities and maintain quality while working in a fast-paced environment where deadlines may range from several days to only a few hours.
