Job description

Job Title: Commercial Glazing Field Foreman

Company: Hemm's Glass

Location: Regional (Daily On-Site Presence – Serving Ohio and surrounding areas)

About Hemm's Glass

Since 1948, Hemm’s Glass has been a trusted name across Ohio and the Midwest, delivering top-tier commercial, residential, and auto glass solutions. We are a mission-driven, community-focused company that takes pride in building things that last. We believe in empowering our people, trusting our field leaders, and fostering a culture of craftsmanship and growth.

About the Role

Are you a seasoned glazier who has proven experience running crews on commercial construction job sites? Hemm's Glass is looking for a hands-on, safety-minded Commercial Glazing Field Foreman to lead a dedicated crew of 3–5 workers.

In this role, you won't just oversee the install—you’ll run the site. We are looking for someone with a strong background in commercial construction leadership who can take total ownership of project execution, keep projects on schedule, and mentor the next generation of craftsmen. If you thrive on the energy of commercial builds and take pride in precision work, we want you on our team.

What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities)

  • Lead the Crew: Run, mentor, and set the pace for a dedicated crew of 3–5 glaziers on commercial construction sites, fostering strong teamwork and skill development.
  • Drive Commercial Project Execution: Oversee daily glass installation, interpret complex architectural blueprints, and make critical on-the-spot decisions to keep projects moving seamlessly.
  • Champion Safety & Quality: Uphold Hemm's strict standards for quality control and ensure rigorous safety compliance on every job site.
  • Manage On-Site Operations: Coordinate day-to-day scheduling, material handling, and tool/equipment maintenance to minimize downtime.
  • Be the On-Site Face of Hemm’s Glass: Communicate professionally and effectively with general contractors, clients, and project stakeholders.

What We’re Looking For (Qualifications)

  • Commercial Construction Leadership: Proven, hands-on experience running a crew specifically within commercial construction environments.
  • Glazing Expertise: 5+ years of professional experience in commercial glazing, modern glass installation techniques, and reading technical blueprints.
  • Decisive Problem-Solver: Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot site challenges independently, keep cool under pressure, and find practical solutions.
  • Strong Communicator: Excellent interpersonal, time-management, and leadership skills to direct your crew and manage client relations.
  • Credentials: Valid driver’s license and the ability to handle regional travel and daily on-site presence. Technical training or glazing certifications are a strong plus.

Why Join the Hemm’s Team?

At Hemm’s Glass, you’re more than just an employee—you’re part of a legacy of quality that spans over 75 years. We provide our field leaders with the respect, support, and resources they need to run successful sites and grow their long-term careers.
