Job description

Job Title: Retail Merchandiser
Position Summary:

As our Retail Merchandiser, you'll travel to E&H Hardware locations in a company-provided vehicle, partnering with store teams to create engaging shopping experiences that drive sales. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, working independently, and collaborating with multiple teams. Most travel is during the normal workday, allowing you to return home each evening while making a meaningful impact across our stores.

Key Responsibilities:
• Visit multiple store locations to execute merchandising initiatives and ensure adherence to visual merchandising standards.
• Provide direct merchandising support through execution of large- and small-scale store merchandising programs including resets at the category, department, and full store level
• Support periodic educational training sessions with store personnel on various merchandising topics designed to support the Company's sales objectives.
• Provide direction and assistance to store personnel with store-level merchandising displays that reflect the Company's overall marketing and merchandising programs and objectives, including proper adjacencies and efficient usage of available floor space.
• Assist with development of future merchandising programs and displays.
• Implement planograms, product displays, promotional signage, and endcaps to maximize product visibility and sales.
• Monitor product levels, identify out-of-stock items, and coordinate with store teams for replenishment.
• Conduct regular merchandising audits and provide feedback to corporate and store leadership on compliance, opportunities, and issues.
• Support store teams with seasonal resets, remodels, product introductions, and store openings as needed.
• Analyze sales trends and customer shopping patterns to recommend merchandising adjustments that drive sales and improve inventory flow.
• Ensure accurate and timely installation of promotional materials, pricing, and point-of-sale signage.
• Collaborate with store managers and department leads to execute corporate merchandising programs and initiatives.
• Document store visits and submit detailed reports, including photos and project updates, in a timely manner.
• Train and coach store associates on merchandising best practices and visual standards.
• Identify and communicate opportunities for improved product placement, fixture adjustments, or space optimization.
• Maintain a working knowledge of company products and current promotions to better support merchandising decisions.
• Oversee PCM/ICM, reviewing and placing bulletin orders in conjunction with the category managers.
• Oversee end-cap compliance.
• All other duties as requested or assigned.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or related coursework preferred.
• 2+ years of retail merchandising, visual merchandising, or retail operations experience.
• Experience supporting multiple store locations preferred; hardware, home improvement, or similar retail experience a plus.
• Strong understanding of planograms, display techniques, and retail merchandising principles.
• Excellent organization, time management, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently while traveling between assigned store locations during the normal workday.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with both corporate and in-store teams.
• Proficiency in using mobile devices, apps, and reporting tools for documentation and communication.
• Valid driver's license with a safe driving record. Company vehicle provided for travel between assigned stores during the workday. This position primarily involves same-day travel within the assigned territory, with only occasional overnight travel for special projects, new store openings, or company meetings.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift products for extended periods.
• Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
• Comfortable working with ladders, shelving, and basic tools as needed for merchandise setup.

Pay Range: $45,000 - $55,000 per year
