Job Title: Entry Level 1st Shift Maintenance Mechanic

Job Description

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for troubleshooting and repairing facility equipment, supporting construction and fabrication projects, and installing new equipment within a food manufacturing environment. This role focuses on maintaining reliable operation of industrial machinery and systems.

Work Environment

This role is based in a clean, modern food manufacturing facility that maintains a comfortable climate—warm in the winter and cool in the summer. The environment follows strict cleanliness and sanitation protocols that must be adhered to daily to ensure product quality and safety. The position operates on a first-shift schedule, typically working Monday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Fridays from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., with work centered around industrial equipment and supporting systems in a production setting.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues on industrial equipment to minimize downtime and ensure safe operation.
• Perform routine and corrective maintenance on facility equipment within an industrial maintenance setting.
• Read and interpret blueprints to diagnose issues and guide repairs and installations.
• Install, wire, and commission equipment, including controls and variable frequency drives (VFDs), in accordance with safety and quality standards.
• Support construction and fabrication work within the facility, including equipment modifications and improvements.
• Diagnose and repair systems involving pneumatics and hydraulics as needed.
• Assist with troubleshooting and repair of HVAC equipment and forklifts when required.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Columbus, OH.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
