What You’ll Do:
  • Terminate, splice, and certify single-mode and multi-mode fiber optic cabling
  • Prepare fiber optic cables for splicing, including jacket removal, buffer tube preparation, fiber cleaning, cleaving, and protection sleeve installation
  • Perform high-volume fusion splicing of loose tube, ribbon, and armored fiber optic cables
  • Perform fusion splicing and fiber terminations to industry standards
  • Test and certify fiber systems using OTDRs, power meters, VFLs, and certification equipment
  • Troubleshoot fiber connectivity, signal loss, and communication issues
  • Documentation & Coordination
  • Read and interpret drawings, fiber matrices, rack elevations, and security system schematics
  • Coordinate with project managers, security integrators, contractors, and data center operations teams
  • Participate in commissioning, turnover, and change management processes
  • Work from service tickets to complete assigned tasks
  • Communicate with team members and supervisors on progress
  • Support ongoing projects in data centers and client sites

What You Bring:
  • 2+ years of fiber optic splicing experience with demonstrated proficiency in fusion splicing
  • Experience with ribbon fiber, mass fusion splicing, and high-count fiber cables preferred
  • Ability to interpret OTDR results and troubleshoot fiber loss issues
  • Experience testing and certifying fiber optic infrastructure in data center environments
  • Knowledge of fiber optic loss budgets, splice performance standards, and industry best practices
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Corning, CommScope, Panduit, AFL, or similar fiber optic systems
  • Experience with ribbon splicing and high-density fiber deployments in hyperscale data centers
  • Manufacturer training or certifications on fusion splicing platforms such as Fujikura, Sumitomo, or INNO Instruments
Additional Requirements:
  • Must be local to or able to commute to Columbus / New Albany, OH area
  • Must provide ASTM-rated composite toe boots (all other PPE provided)
  • Must pass background check and drug screening
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime as needed
  • Work in date centers, construction sites, and office environments
  • May include non-climate-controlled conditions and varying noise levels
  • Schedule may vary based on project needs (early mornings, evenings, or extended hours as needed)
