Job description

Job Title: Industrial Electrician

Pay Rate: $44.99

  • Shift differental pay for nights (.90/hr) and Sundays (time and a half)

Location: Newark, Oh 43055

Schedule: 3 on 3 off, rotating 12-hr shifts. Rotate day and nights every 28 days. 4 10-hr shifts (M-Th or T-F) or 5 8-hr shifts (M-F)

Overtime: OT hrs are available but not required to work

The Electrician is responsible for installing and repairing electrical systems, apparatus, and components of industrial machinery and equipment. This role ensures continuous manufacturing processes by providing maintenance repairs as needed. The Electrician uses man lifts, forklifts, hoists, and all necessary electrical testing equipment. Safety is paramount, and adherence to all safety policies and procedures is required. The individual must be highly skilled, professional, and capable of performing root cause analysis on breakdowns and implementing corrective measures.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Immediately report any accidents, near misses, or injuries to your supervisor.
  • Prioritize personal and team safety daily.
  • Comply with safety requirements and notify appropriate personnel of any exceptions.
  • Follow all environmental compliance policies and programs.
  • Understand and apply basic industrial electrical codes.
  • Work with AC, DC, and Servo drive systems.
  • Troubleshoot and communicate technical issues with DC and AC variable frequency drives.
  • Install and repair complex industrial equipment.
  • Maintain all plant electrical and electronic systems.
  • Lead efforts for electrical root cause analysis when appropriate.
  • Work with outside contractors as instructed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Advanced computer skills.
  • Knowledge of electrical, PLC, and communication systems.
  • Understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
  • Ability to think under pressure and make quick, safe decisions.
  • Proficient in English communication.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision and produce high-quality work.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Authorized to work in the United States on an unlimited basis.

Computer and Software Competencies:

  • Proficient in operating a computer or other keyboard instruments.
  • Experience with Allen Bradley systems.
  • Experience with SAP is preferred but not required.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a related maintenance trade or occupation involving electrical and electronic components in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • PLC training.
  • Understanding of power systems (preferred but not required).
  • Knowledge of 15KV electrical distribution.
  • Understanding of coordinated multi-drive systems.
  • Experience with guarding (light curtains, interlocks, etc.).
