Job description
- Develop and optimize machining processes for new and existing products (CNC Turning, Milling, Drilling and Grinding, etc.)
- Design and implement robust process flows, work instructions, and standard operating procedures (COPs)
- Select and validate cutting tools, fixtures, and equipment to ensure repeatability and high performance
- Conduct time studies, capability studies, and root cause analysis to improve process efficiency and reduce scrap
- Support new product introduction (NPIs) by collaborating with product development, quality and production teams to ensure manufacturability
- Evaluate and implement continuous improvement initiatives (e.g. Lean, Six Sigma, 5S, Kaizen)
- Troubleshoot machining issues and provide t4echnical support to production teams
- Work closely with suppliers and tool vendors for process validation and optimization
- Monitor key process indicators (KPIs) and drive corrective actions when necessary
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, quality systems, and regulatory requirements
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering/Industrial Engineering or equivalent field or 5+ years of relevant CNC Machining experience
- Strong project management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- GD amp;T standards preferred
- Hands-on experience with CNC machines (e.g. Emag, Okuma, Mazak, Kuka controllers)
- Strong understanding of GD amp;T, blueprint reading, and tolerance stack-ups
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and production scheduling tools
- Experience with CAD/CAM recommended
