Job description

Position Overview: 

The Behavioral Health Technician supports the residential and inpatient milieu by facilitating therapeutic activity groups, assisting clients in acquiring skills to manage their eating disorder, maintaining a recovery-oriented environment, and providing general support and assistance.

Schedule:

  • Full-time, 0.8 FTE (32 hours/week)
  • 2nd shift, 2p-10:30p
  • Rotating weekends and holidays required

Compensation Disclosure:

  • BHT I: Starting hourly range between $18.00-22.00

Final Compensation offered will be within pay range based on qualifications/experience met for the position

How Behavior Health Technicians Empower Recovery:  

  • Partners with the multi-disciplinary team on care plan and treatment, assisting in admissions, supporting or assisting clients in programming
  • Participates in therapeutic meals and snacks and provides support during structured outings and recreation
  • Available to engage, challenge, and support residents as needed. Reports observations and documents in charts
  • Monitors and supports bathroom use per client treatment direction. Monitors and documents exercise.
  • Responsible for enforcing appropriate policies with residents and completing all expected tasks including hourly room-checks

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Associate degree or higher or at least 2 years of healthcare experience in a similar position/ related field preferred. (i.e. Paraprofessional, Mental Health Technician, Behavior Specialist, Recovery Coach).
  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, behavioral health, or a related field; a relevant certification or licensure preferred.
  • Must have valid driver's license and be authorized to drive
  • Previous direct mental health experience preferred
