What you will do

Under general supervision of the Project Owner, the Site Project Manager serves as the onsite representative responsible for the execution of assigned Security projects of medium complexity. This role oversees the entire construction effort to ensure timely completion within the defined scope, budget, and schedule while maintaining project integrity, safety, and customer satisfaction.

The Site Project Manager supervises all onsite activities for Johnson Controls and coordinates Johnson Controls' work with customers, contractors, and other site stakeholders to ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions.

This position requires extended deployment, typically ranging from 6 to 18 months, currently within the Columbus, Ohio market, with the ability to remain on site for the duration of the assignment.

How you will do it
  • Serve as the onsite project manager for assigned Security projects, planning, executing, and completing projects in accordance with contractual requirements.

  • Collaborate with the Major Projects team and assigned Project Manager to align project objectives with scope, budget, schedule, and resource plans.

  • Coordinate daily communication with the Project Manager, customer, subcontractors, and other site contractors.

  • Perform daily site inspections to ensure quality, safety compliance, project integrity, and customer satisfaction.

  • Ensure execution of work aligns with Johnson Controls standards, policies, and contractual obligations.

  • Submit regular progress updates and field reports for integration into the master project schedule, including variance analysis.

  • Address site conflicts related to work sequencing, labor coordination, and unforeseen conditions.

  • Support risk management activities and assist the Project Manager in developing and implementing recovery plans when required.

  • Ensure project documentation and controls comply with contract requirements and Johnson Controls policies.

  • Communicate expectations clearly to subcontractors and ensure adequate staffing levels to maintain project schedules.

  • May serve as the onsite safety program coordinator and/or QA/QC lead.

  • Participate in project meetings, including scheduling, coordination, commissioning, and closeout activities.

  • Coordinate with Regional and Branch Leadership through the assigned Major Projects Project Manager to ensure adequate resources and support.

What we look forRequired
  • University degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Minimum of 6 years of related project management, construction supervision, or field leadership experience.

  • Prior experience managing mediumcomplexity projects within the Security, lowvoltage, life safety, or related construction environment.

  • Strong coordination skills with the ability to supervise multiple onsite activities simultaneously.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

  • Willingness and ability to deploy for extended periods (typically 6 to 18 months) and travel up to 100% based on project assignment.

  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Adobe Writer, Visio, and Windowsbased applications.

  • Experience supporting or leading project scopes of $1M or greater.

  • Must hold or be able to obtain required State Certifications for Security Alarm Systems.

Preferred
  • Associate Degree with 5-7 years of direct project coordination and supervisory experience in Commercial and/or Industrial Building Construction
    or
    8 years of direct field experience in the Security or fire alarm life safety industry.

  • Prior experience working on Major Projects or longterm site deployments.

  • Familiarity with Johnson Controls project controls, safety standards, and QA/QC processes.

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $85,000- 117,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience,knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with marketdata.)
