This role will work a hybrid schedule coming into the Columbus, Ohio office 2 days per week on Mondays & Tuesdays.
Retirement Solutions Technology team is seeking a highly motivated and highly skilled developer for a team of software engineers for the RSC and DCdirect/RPLink applications that support the Retirement Solutions Line of Business. In this role the ideal candidate will have deep experience working in modern web technologies, APIs, and Java along with being well versed in cloud native platform and secure coding practices. Effective communication and collaboration within the team, across teams and departments is critical.
Primary responsibilities include
  • Participating in the delivery of quality solutions

  • Adhering to best practices, tools, and consistent processes across various technical domains

  • Participating in design, development, and implementation of IT solutions

  • Troubleshooting complex software development problems and providing effective solutions

The ideal candidate for this role will be
  • Proficient in Java, JavaScript, Angular, RESTful API, and Apigee

  • Experienced in the use of AI tools like Github Copilot

As a Software Engineer, you will focus primarily on providing high quality, efficient technology solutions to business partners by crafting new software applications or modifying and/or supporting existing packaged or custom-built applications. In this capacity, you'll analyze, code, configure, test, debug, document and maintain applications.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyzes, solutions, develops, tests, debugs, documents and deploys software according to standards in an agile environment.
  • Applies secure software and systems engineering practices throughout the delivery lifecycle to ensure our data and technology solutions are protected from threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Uses DevSecOps practices, tooling and techniques.
  • Drives continuous improvement and learning through ongoing training, practice and innovation.
  • Manages medium to large project priorities, deadlines and deliverables proactively.

May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Reporting Relationships: Reports to a Technology Manager/Director.
Typical Skills and Experiences:
Education: Completion of undergraduate studies in computer science, management information systems, or other related degree. Technology experience or non-traditional technology certificates can be substituted for an undergraduate degree.
Experience: Four or more years of analysis and technology experience.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Proficiency in one or more programming language such as Java, C++, Python, JavaScript. Strong knowledge of software development lifecycle. Proven ability to tackle complex business and development problems. Ability to thrive in a team environment. Insurance/financial services industry knowledge a plus.
Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.
Staffing exceptions to the above must be approved by the hiring manager's leader and Human Resources Business Partner.
