Job description

Peak Nano is expanding its nanolayered polymer film platform into food and medical device packaging as well as offering contract research. The Product Manager owns the product strategy, roadmap, pricing, regulatory pathway, and customer positioning for the contract research platform as well as any new film IP that is developed. Each platform will be developed from product definition through market entry. The Product Manager will establish Peak Nano as a well‑known option for contract research in the packaging industry and the NanoPlex materials known as viable, high performing alternatives to the current standards. This is a greenfield product management role. Peak Nano has proven nanolayering technology and a scalable manufacturing platform, but the packaging market entry strategy, product specifications, competitor mapping, pricing, regulatory pathway, and customer development are yours to build. The right candidate has deep packaging industry experience, understands FDA and EU food‑contact and medical device regulatory frameworks, and has built product strategy for barrier films or packaging materials before.

Required Qualifications
  • BS in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Packaging Science, Polymer Science, or Food Science
  • 5-10 years of product management experience in packaging films, barrier materials, medical device packaging, food‑contact materials, or similar products
  • Working knowledge of FDA food‑contact regulations (21 CFR), EU food‑contact (10/2011), and/or medical device packaging regulatory pathways (USP Class VI, ISO 10993, EU MDR 2017/745)
  • Familiarity with sustainability regulations (EU PPWR, extended producer responsibility, recycled content mandates)
  • Experience building product strategy for a new market entry or product line launch, not just managing an existing product
  • Comfortable working across a cross‑functional team including scientists, engineers, marketing, and sales
  • Strong written and oral communication for white papers, regulatory submissions, and customer‑facing presentations
Preferred Qualifications
  • MS or PhD in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Packaging Science, Polymer Science, or Food Science
  • Understanding of basic film properties including barrier properties (OTR, WVTR) and how they are measured, specified, and qualified in packaging applications
  • Direct experience with at least one of: flexible barrier packaging, sterile medical packaging (ISO 11607), retort packaging, or pharmaceutical primary packaging
  • Experience with PFAS regulatory landscape (FDA, EPA, EU REACH, state‑level restrictions)
  • Experience managing extractables and leachables (E&L) testing programs and understanding analytical methodology
  • Experience with converter sales cycles (trials, process compatibility validation, scale‑up)
