Responsibilities

  • Responsible for directing the overall operations and staff of the Security department.  Develops, implements and manages operational goals and monitors achievements of performance and profit objectives. 
  • Supervise all security management within the department. Conduct daily inspections of the management team and brief them as necessary. 
  • Schedule all management staff to meet the needs of the casino to include scheduling for all events, holidays, and mandatory meetings while ensuring compliance with regulatory staffing minimums. 
  • Ensures that scheduling is done in an effective and efficient manner, while maintaining labor costs, meeting staffing objectives and requirements and achieving guest satisfaction. 
  • Enthusiastically supports, actively promotes, and demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with department and company standards and programs. Ensures customer service standards are followed by all team members and addresses issues as they arise. Responsible for the overall achievement of department customer service goals.  
  • Compiles, submits and verifies all necessary reports to while ensuring completeness and accuracy. Train all management staff and officers in report writing skills. 
  • An in-depth knowledge of company policies, procedures, internal controls and regulatory requirements.  
  • Develops, evaluates, enforces, reviews and approves changes or revisions to operating practices, procedures and standards based on business trends, practices and regulatory requirements. 
  • Trains and counsels all supervisors and assistants in all procedures, internal controls and regulatory requirements. 
  • Develops and maintains a system for conducting and documenting such training.  
  • Coordinating with Risk Management on oversight of property wide Emergency Procedures. Coordinate efforts during emergency situations. 
  • Work with property Risk and Safety to reduce liability claims. 
  • Acts as liaison between Security, local regulatory body, public law enforcement as well as other departments at the property. 
  • Responsible for ensuring the compliance with all regulatory compliance within area of responsibility and reporting potential issues to Executive Management / GM.  
  • Ensures and maintains proper control over the gaming operations while protecting and preserving the assets of the company.   
  • Maintains strict confidentiality in all departmental and company matters. 
  • Coach, monitor, and develop team members for improved performance. 
  • Issuing timely performance evaluations on team members, offering developmental guidelines and resources to achieve goals. 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) in business, criminal justice or related field from four year college or university; five or more years’ experience of Security or police experience with a minimum of three years of leadership experienced preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office software (Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook). 
  • Must have excellent organizational and communication skills.   
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. 
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. 
  • Must have the ability to demonstrate superior customer service skills while interacting with both external and internal guests while resolving problems and conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner. 
  • Demonstrated intermediate level of competence in the areas of ambition, customer service, engagement, leadership, business reasoning and emotional intelligence. 
  • Flexible to work all shifts including holidays, nights, and weekend hours as business needs dictate
