Job Description Summary:

This position is responsible providing didactic and clinical instruction in the nurse anesthesia program. Duties will include course planning and design, didactic and clinical instruction, evaluation of learning, student advising, curriculum and program evaluation. This is a 0.2 FTE position.

Responsibilities And Duties:

Develops, designs, and delivers instruction in nurse anesthesia clinical and didactic courses. Engages in teaching, service, and scholarship. Participates in mentoring and advising students. Maintains office hours. Evaluates student progress in the classroom, clinical, and laboratory setting. Participates in development and maintenance of program records and data bases. Assists with student recruitment, interviews, and admissions. 2.

Administration. Participates in implementation, evaluation, and revision of the nurse anesthesia didactic and clinical curriculum. Assists with maintaining the nurse anesthesia program in compliance with accreditation requirements. Performs administrative tasks as delegated by the Program Director. Participates in program, Grant Medical Center, and Otterbein University Division of Nursing committee work as assigned.3.

Clinical. Performs clinical duties as described in CRNA Job Description for Grant Medical Center. . Serves as a liaison and resource for students, clinical faculty and affiliated sites. Assigns, supervises, and coordinates student activities at clinical sites. Documents and maintains records monitoring student clinical progress. Maintains expertise in the field by participating in clinical practice, participating in professional organizations, and attending educational programs. Establishes collaborative relationships with individuals and agencies that affiliate with the nurse anesthesia program.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master's Degree: Nursing (Required)ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support - American Heart Association, CRNA - Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist - National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA)

Additional Job Description:

Master's degree minimum requirement. Current licensure as a registered nurse in the state of Ohio. Holds a current, unencumbered APRN from the Ohio state Board of Nursing to practice as a CRNA. Graduate of an accredited nurse anesthesia educational program. Certified by the Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists. Recertified by the Council on Recertification of Nurse Anesthetists. 3 years experience as a CRNA, ACLS Certification. Experience teaching nurse anesthesia students. Excellent computer, communication, interpersonal relationship, problem solving, and conflict resolution skills. self-directed
