Job description

Leapros Skilled Trades is actively hiring Security Technician in Hilliard, OH. The Security Technician is responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of electronic security systems, including access control, video surveillance (CCTV), and intrusion detection. This role requires a technical professional who can ensure that systems are functioning efficiently and in compliance with client requirements and industry safety standards.

Pay: $22 to $29 Per Hour BOE

Responsibilities:

  • Install and configure security hardware such as card readers, cameras, and motion sensors.
  • Pull, route, and terminate low-voltage cabling including Cat5e, Cat6, and coaxial cables.
  • Perform routine system inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure ongoing functionality.
  • Troubleshoot and repair faulty components or system malfunctions in a timely manner.
  • Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to guide installation and wiring.
  • Program and test security system software for access control and video management platforms.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, material usage, and system configurations.
  • Provide basic technical support and system training to end-users on proper operation.
  • Coordinate with project managers and other trades to ensure timely project completion.
  • Ensure compliance with all company safety policies and OSHA regulations while on-site.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in the installation and maintenance of electronic security systems.
  • Strong working knowledge of low-voltage wiring, IP networking, and electrical safety.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and specialized testing equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents, technical manuals, and blueprints.
  • Experience with various security software platforms for access control or CCTV management.
  • Ability to pass a background check and any client-specific security clearances.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or within a team.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds frequently and occasionally up to 75 pounds.
  • Must be comfortable working on ladders, lifts, and in confined or elevated spaces.
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for using tools and handling small components.
  • Visual and auditory acuity sufficient for system testing and diagnostics.
  • Ability to distinguish different colors for cable identification and labeling.
  • Ability to work in various environments, including active construction sites and mission-critical spaces.
