American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Columbus, Ohio.

Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Transplant PCU night shift position requiring at least 1 year of Stepdown/PCU experience and an active OH or compact RN license.

Details
  • Work in the Transplant unit of a teaching hospital
  • Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting caring for MS/Tele, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown, and telemetry patients
  • Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM), 36 hours per week
  • Weekday schedule with occasional weekends and rotating holidays
  • Floating required within OSU
  • Uses Epic charting system
Requirements
  • Active OH or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Minimum 1 year of experience required; 4 years required if MS/Tele experience only
  • Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
  • Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy, accessing/managing ports, central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, starting and maintaining IVs, cardiac monitoring and emergency response, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, IV insulin protocols, and non-invasive airway management
  • 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a Manager/Director or formal leadership role and the second from a Charge RN or higher; no coworker references accepted
Additional Information
  • Provide nursing care to transplant patients in a stepdown/progressive care setting
  • Manage cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmias, and respiratory support including nasal cannula and non-invasive airway management
  • Holiday coverage required on a rotating basis
  • RTO must be submitted with initial contract and limited to 7 days or less
  • Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting requirements urgently upon signing contract
  • Former employees eligible for a travel assignment after 6 months away from the facility
  • Current employees are ineligible for travel assignments at any Ohio State University hospital location
  • Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
